Weston is a small community situated approximately 15 miles West of Boston. It is on the perimeter of the Metropolitan Boston area. With easy access to the Ma Pike, Route 128 and route 117, it is a popular location for those who need a short commute to Boston.
Steeped in history, Weston offers a look into the past with its historic homes and sites. The Josiah Smith Tavern, the Samuel Train House, and the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History, give some insight into the pride Weston displays in history
Weston has been successful in preserving approximately 2000 acres of open space. There is a small portion of the Emerald Necklace which crosses through Weston. This is a recreational asset that connects Plum Island to Kingston Bay. In addition, there are 90 miles of trails for hiking, walking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. Additional recreation includes the Leo J. Martin Golf Course (golf, cross country skiing and snow shoeing), the Weston ski track, the Mass Central Rail Trail, Weston summer camp, and the community Memorial Pool.
The Weston Art and Innovation Center opened in 2019 and offers “hands on learning opportunities related to art and technology”. Not to be missed is the Weston Drama Workshop summer program.
Schools in Weston rank in the top tier in the country. Small classes, teacher excellence, and parent involvement are part of this success. There are three Elementary Schools, Weston Middle School, and Weston High School.
